Eset NOD32 Antivirus Software

My current antivirus software is about to expire soon. So i decided to check out some other new antivirus software on the net if should there is other product which is better then the one i’m using now. (or rather cheaper :D )

I came across Eset NOD32 antivirus software (Malaysian site). To my curiosity, i clicked on the buy link and wanted to know how much they are selling. And this is what i found:-

eset-my-site

Check the above the red circle, to buy a 2 years license is actually much more expensive then 1 year! I’m not sure how they actually calculate the “promotion” price but i think it is definitely a typo and they should rectify soonest possible.

The report adds that HTC is planning another high-profile handset in September or October of this year based on Qualcomm’s BREW Mobile Platform (BMP). MOTODEV will offer developers early access to a new suite of Google Android developer tools and programs, along with the opportunity to attend the next MOTODEV Summit in San Diego, CA, on October 6, for advanced training and information-gathering. The program is intended to accelerate the development of applications to be used on Motorola’s mobile devices using the Android operating system scheduled to ship later this year.

“Motorola is focused on helping our global network of best-in-class developers create, deploy and successfully market their Android applications to ultimately unleash greater innovation into the mobile application development space,” said Christy Wyatt, Vice President, Software Platforms and Ecosystem, Motorola. “We believe Android and open software has the freedom and flexibility to foster innovation, accelerate time to market, and deliver the most personal and customized mobile experiences for consumers.”

To give developers a head start in creating apps that realize the full power of Android and utilize Motorola’s newest handset features, the company invites developers to join MOTODEV’s App Accelerator Program. Through this program, select developers will have the ability to submit their applications to Motorola and leverage the opportunity to distribute through a variety of channels, including carrier stores, the Android Market and third-party distributors. In addition, the program will specifically offer developers.

Google Chrome OS – New OS for PC

google-chromeGoogle is launching an OS call Google Chrome OS for PC based computers.

“Google Chrome OS is an open-source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks,” noted the company in a statement. “Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.” Eventually the OS will also be used on other laptops and desktops. The operating system is a “natural extension” of its Chrome Internet browser, launched last year, the firm said.

Google was keen to stress that the Chrome operating system is a separate effort from Android, though, like Android, it will be open-source, meaning other developers can have access to and modify the code. “Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks,” adds the company in a statement. “Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the Web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, we believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google.”
